An unfortunate coincidence that became a social study. Why do we visit temples, monasteries, churches and mosques in foreign places? Do we hope to discover unifying elements? Are we looking for salvation or the Holy Spirit? Are religious monuments nowadays nothing more than another tourist attraction – an additional Instagram backdrop? I try to answer these questions photographically. And furthermore: Does the divine still play a role at all in our modern civilization? Or has something else taken its place: something digital.
